Wedding on a Budget Steps.

So you have decided to get married, Congratulations!!

It is imperative that you set out a plan/budget that you are going to follow to avoid spending more than you can afford and finding yourself in a considerable amount of debt.

It is possible to cut down your expenditure without having to forfeit the wedding of your dreams. Weddings these days can cost an exorbitant amount of money and you can soon find the costs spiraling way out of control; however, equipped with the correct budgeting tips, you can save money and still have the day of your dreams.

Following a few simple steps will not only guarantee an affordable wedding but also mean that you can still have the kind of wedding you desire.

Step1.
This is possibly the most important point of all; you need to decide exactly what your budget is, how many guests you will be inviting and how many people will be in your wedding party.

Step2.
Create a check list of all of your expenses, below are a few ideas:
Wedding dress - you could consider hiring your dress as this will most probably be one of the most expensive individual items that you will purchase.
Suit hire - possibly for the groom and best man
Wedding Rings
Bridesmaid's dresses
Ceremony - where will you be getting married? Church, Registry office, on the reception venue's grounds (if it is to be the latter, you will need the services of a celebrant)
Wedding Reception
Flowers
Corsages
Favors - these can be expensive, perhaps you could consider making your own. There are several sites on the internet.
Entertainment - would you like a live band or a DJ? The best thing to do here would be to get quotes from both.
Food - a sit down meal can become extremely expensive as it is often a cost per head; you could keep your guest list short for this event by limiting it to close friends and family, the rest of the guests could join you later at your reception to celebrate your wedding. Perhaps you could check out other alternatives, how about a buffet style meal?

Step3.
Shop around - get several quotes for each of the items on your list, you'll be surprised how much the costs may vary from shop to shop. You can even use the internet to compare prices quickly.
Add the prices to your list and tally it up to make sure that you are within your budget.

Step 4.
Put a plan in place to save for your big day.
Good Luck!!

Planning your Wedding on a Budget can mean you can have everything that you want without the heavy debt to go with it.
